On Mik’s Kitchen I can promise you that everything I post is authentic and the recipes I share have been made, loved and enjoyed by many. My recipes are easy to follow using ingredients you can find in your local grocery stores. I hope to influence those who join my community to step out of their comfort zone, try new things and enhance their cooking and baking skills. I truly believe baking and cooking are some of the best skills around and anyone can be a great cook with a little practice.

I’ve had many great people in my life who have inspired me to pursue food as a creative hobby. I started at a young age navigating the kitchen and being a helpful hand. All thanks to my family for teaching me along the way. When I was a teenager, I was able to partake and further enhance my cooking skills in a few classes I attended in high school. A red-seal chef instructed and taught us in an industrial kitchen how to cook a variety of dishes using various techniques – and you guessed it, I absolutely loved it.

In conjunction with that experience, my mom, especially when it came to baking, taught me much of my knowledge in the kitchen. Along with her, almost all of my close family enjoy cooking and baking foods for one another. Whether it’s getting together to try a new recipe or pulling out a well-known dish, cooking and baking in the kitchen will always bring memories that will last a lifetime.

A big reason for my love for cooking and baking is thanks to my mom. She sadly left us in January of 2019 due to a terminal cancer that took her life and we miss her dearly. It’s an honor and a privilege to be able to carry out my mom’s legacy through sharing recipes and making tasty food for my loved ones. Food has always brought people together in my life and what better way than to share my recipes, tips and tricks with all of you on this blog. I vow to never post something that myself or a family member hasn’t tried and loved! I really hope to inspire others with my recipes and bring everyone’s taste buds to a new level of tasty!
